Unless you’ve been living in a cave or not a Running Man fan, you’ll have known that Gary is leaving Running Man, and this time, it’s a certainty.
His last shoot was on 31 October 2016, and boy was it emotional.
The crew of Running Man, including the production team, had a meal together after filming, and Gary posted this in his Instagram account.
The description, when translated, reads “Thank you, Running Man. I’ve been happy. You were the best moment of my life and I will not be able to forget you.”
Ji Suk-jin, perhaps the least emotional person in the cast but definitely the oldest, posted this before the shoot.
He added, “Gary, I’ve been feeling weird since this morning. I can’t believe it’s your last shoot, and the sky is downcast. I’m very sad, you rascal. ㅠㅠ See you later.”
A few days before the shoot, Gary had posted a heartfelt message on his Instagram to this fans.
“Hello everyone this is Gary,
First of all, I regret to say that I am truly sorry to announce the sudden news. I am sincerely grateful and thankful for all the attention and love I have received throughout the 7 years. I deeply apologize with all my heart, and I promise I will do my best wherever and whatever I pursue in the future especially for all my fans that have given me these memorable moments that I will never forget. I also want to thank those who have supported me with my decision.
Again, I am sorry and again, thank you!
Lastly, please continue to support ‘Running man’ and the cast for all the hard work and effort they put in each week to make the best of ‘Running man’
Thank you!
With much love,
Kang Gary”
