I think it’s time for the internet to take a step back and reflect on what we’ve done for the past few years.
We came from people eating tide pods to people camping out illegally at Ikea stores overnight, from people jumping out of moving cars, to this.
This.
And I think that’s enough.
Latest Internet Trend
Want to keep up with the latest internet trend? Love cockroaches? You’re in luck.
The latest internet trend involves everyone’s favourite household pet, the cockroach. (I’m being completely sarcastic.)
On April 20, Alex Aung posted this on Facebook.
A cockroach. On. His. Face.
Accompanied the photo was this caption, “new challenge. Can you do this 😊”
If you’re thinking to yourself, no way people are going to do this challenge. You’re wrong. Very wrong.
People Followed
Look away now if you’re scared of cockroaches.
Really, I mean it.
Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
The most shocking thing that came out of this challenge was that people actually followed suit. And they’re far more worst than the original.
Too Basic
Putting it on your face? Too basic. For this Facebook user, Last Queen, she took this challenge to another level.
By putting the cockroach in her mouth instead.
I’m literally gagging from writing this and looking at the picture, and I’m hoping that whatever is in her mouth is fake and not the real deal.
We really need time away from the internet. Now.
One Is Not Enough
One? Not enough.
Two? Not Enough.
Three? Eh, maybe.
Four? Yes, please.
This Facebook user, Myat Htoo Naung, did not put cockroaches on his face. Instead, he put multiple of those crawlers on his hand. And placed it near his mouth. Kinda looks like an extremely downgraded version of the Infinity Gauntlet.
Back to Basic
Well, not all are worst than the original I guess. Maybe just a little.
Facebook user Hnin Wai Wai Moe uploaded this as a reply to Alex’s original post. Although this was not as bad as the other two extreme versions of it, the cockroach on her face is near her mouth.
Imagine her mouth opening and the cockroach crawling in.
Send help.
Face Crawler
If you thought that the guy with 4 cockroaches on his hand was terrifying, I have more.
This one is much worst.
Oh. My. God.
I don’t even want to count the number of cockroaches on her face because I’m getting goosebumps from looking at the photo.
The caption for this post is:
“Not all girls are afraid of cockroach😂😆
Challenge😄”
Well, I am. And I’m terrified. I can’t even imagine holding a cockroach bare-handed. But I can’t help but wonder, where does she get all those cockroaches from?
Creepy Crawlies in Singapore
In Singapore, there are three common types of cockroaches. The American cockroach, brown-banded cockroach and German cockroach.
An American Cockroach can grow up to 53mm long, which are the ones shown in all those photos.
And if you’re thinking of trying the challenge out for yourself, just remember this: Cockroaches bite.
Chills.
