You’ve got the most perfect package in a girlfriend. She’s THE best. You just love putting a smile on her pretty face.

The best part about the two of you? She loves food just as much as you do. Her favorite thing in the whole wide world? Hot, crispy and crunchy fried chicken wings.

As a boyfriend, you’d like to surprise her. She loves flowers, but she loves her wings.

Why not make your very own bouquet of fried chicken wings – just for her?

Here’s how you get it done.

Get a dozen chicken wings and season them with salt and pepper. Pour about 200mls of milk onto them and get rubbin’ with the wings. Leave the meat to marinate for about 30 minutes or up to a couple of hours, if you have time to spare.

When you’re done with the chicken being marinated, it’s time to add 200 grams of self-raising flour into another bowl. Dissolve the flour with another 100mls of milk. Get all oriental and use chopsticks to make things less sticky for you.

Take one wing at a time and cover it evenly with the batter you’ve just made. Lay it into a Tupperware or Ziploc bag that’s been filled with self-raising flour.

Shake those wingies together until they’re covered fully with the flour. Voila – work done with a lesser mess for you to clean up after!

Deep fry the chicken wings in oil that’s at 160 degrees for about 8 minutes. Let the chicken cool and re-fry at 170 degrees for a good 15 minutes the second time round.

Hooray! You’ve got your first batch of perfectly cooked chicken wings. It’s now time to move on to the sauce.

Take 50mls of chili powder and add it into a pan. Follow this with 100mls of sugar, 100mls of water, 25mls of sugar syrup, 25mls of thick soya sauce, 50mls of ketchup, 25mls of red pepper paste and 50mls of finely minced garlic.

Whoa – Now that’s one helluva list of things to add into a pan. Trust me, though, it’s completely worth it.

Mix all of these lovelies together until you’ve got yourself a bubbly pan of saucy goodness.

It’s now time to get decorating. Wrap each piece of chicken wing with parchment paper. Use a few stalks of roses to brighten your bouquet. Spruce it up with a couple of baby breaths while you’re at it.
