There’s A Fried Chicken Festival Happening In KL In Nov This Year

Chicken is the one protein that can be had pretty much any way, and still taste finger-licking delicious. Yet, deep inside your soul, you know there’s only one perfect way to enjoy chicken.

In its crunchy, well-seasoned goodness – a piece of fried chicken.

Whoops – one piece is never enough, it has to be two, or if you’re really hungry, three chunks of golden, crispy poultry.

And in case you ever had dreams about a fried chicken festival, it’s about time you knew about this. There’s actually a FRIED CHICKEN FEST that’s going to take place next month, in KL.

Damn, must go book tickets later! But in the meanwhile, let us inspire your appetite with these details.

We warn you, things are about to get really, really crunchy!

All About the Ayam Lejen Fried Chicken Festival

Yep, and it’s perfectly alright to call it ayam legend, or as it’s spelt here, Ayam Lejen. The event is being run by FriedChillies, and will apparently have a grand total of up to 8 different fried chicken varieties to pick and bite into from.

The dates? Only two days – 18 and 19 Nov.

The Fried Chicken Flavours

The first flavour on the list is KGB, which brings you salted duck egg buffalo wings from Bangsar. Then there’s Johor’s famous Ayam Goreng Wak Kentut, which hails from a nasi lemak shop. Third in line is myBurgerLab’s special fried chicken sliders, followed by Sweetree’s Spicy Korean fried chicken.

Mouth-watering already? Still got four more leh.

Up next is the freestyle fried chicken popcorn by Nomms, followed by Broasted Chicken King, which brings you a unique pressure-cooked fried chicken, Arabian style. Then you’ve got a mix of sesame and Horlicks in fried chicken by Gerai Ah Kow, and finally Zainul Nasi Kandar’s Penang NK-styled fried chicken.

Extra Info About The Event

You can get the tickets to the event on PeatiX. Early birds will get to pay RM48 to enter, which is otherwise priced at RM58. The venue? The LRT’s Ara Damansara station.

There are two time slots for the event to ensure nobody misses out on those two spectacular days. These would be at 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Participants of the Ayam Lejen Fried Chicken Festival will also be able to bring back home their very own super fun goody bag. We wonder if it’ll contain a packed piece of chicken inside.

Well, we can just hope leh.

If you’d like to get more information about the fried chicken festival, you can check out the Facebook event page of FriedChillies.

So, you going to book those tickets and head over or not? I mean, there’s also bragging right involved, obviously. Who else can say they’ve actually attended a fried chicken festival in their lives? This is one thing that deserves to be on your bucket list, and ticked off too!

Lest you’re one of those who didn’t go up north often, here’s a tip: there are many buses that go direct to KL. If you want a cheaper ride, simply go up to JB and hop on a bus instead. Way cheaper (but slower as they sometimes need to find enough people first).

In the meanwhile, salivate on the pictures of the fried chicken and consider. Less than one month to go!
