Once, my boss said this to us: “If I’ve a choice, I’d rather engage a batch of cats instead of you guys.”

As a new employee then, I raised my hand and muttered, “But, boss…cats can’t work. They just sit around and stare into blank space for hours.”

“Aren’t that what you guys have been doing, too? At least cats are cute. Have you seen the cheetah that looks like a cat?”

That was when I realised the harsh reality of full-time work: just nod when the boss’s talking.

And there’s one more thing I’ve learned: know how to please the boss.

So when I see this event, I knew I had to tell him that, despite the consequences of the cats taking over my job.

And well, after telling him about this event, this happened.

Hi there. This is Lucky, a ginger cat who’ll be taking over this piece of article.

If you’re a cat lover, kudos to you because this event would be pawfect for you!

Singapore Cat Festival

You do know that cats are planning to take over the world in 50 years’ time, right?

What better way to know about your future masters than to come over to this festival?

This is the second Singapore Cat Festival, and it’s meant for cat owners, cat lovers and cat enthusiasts to buy more stuff and food for us mingle and learn more about cats.

Over at the event, you’ll see international cat product vendors. You do know how fussy we are with our food, right? Here’s also where you can listen to talks about your future masters. For example, do you know why we like to headbutt you? It’s not because our head’s itchy; it’s because we love you and want you to smell like us. Well, sort of.

The article’s getting a tad dry now, so here’s me drinking water.

According to the human servants who organize the event, this festival is also a “gathering point to rally support for the local cat-loving community, while educating prospective cat owners & the general public on the importance of responsible cat ownership and cat care.”

So yes, if you love cats but haven’t adopted one yet, there’s an adoption drive for you to meet your new masters, too. Here’s the floor plan those human servants have come out with:

And the best-est part of this event? You can bring your masters (i.e. cats) to the event. However, dogs and other pets, like cheetahs or tigers, aren’t allowed.

Also, there’s a breed showcase whereby you get to learn more about interesting breeds. Have you seen a Sphynx cat before?

Okay, maybe a sphynx won’t be there, but you get the gist: you’ll learn so much about us, your grandchildren would be able to serve us better.

So free yourself on the last weekend of this month!
