Do you have the problem of having a phone with low battery life? Is battling low battery a constant battle in your life? Is hurt and feelings of betrayal a staple everyday? Then this invention might just be the solution to your sufferings.

No more feeling betrayed by your phones!

Global warming is a big issue, but phones with flat batteries is an even greater issue that compelled scientists to research charging your phone with urine and socks.

Well, not literally pumping urine into your phone, duh, but the method that involves generating electricity using urine.

Socks and pee are something we encounter everyday. Scientist made use of this reality to create a pair of socks that, filled with urine, is capable of generating electricity from the motion your feet makes when you walk around. Adding a new meaning to “Charging on the go”!

In a recent trial, a pair of socks fueled with urine pumped by the wearer’s footsteps has successfully powered a wireless transmitter to send a signal to the computer. This breakthrough has led scientist to believe that the socks-urine combination can one day be used to charge phones and other devices too. These socks are embedded with miniaturised microbial fuel cells. The 24 individual soft MFC’s inside the socks were fuelled with fresh urine which was circulated around by the human operator walking.

Although still far from commercial use, this glimpse into future technology certainly makes us hopeful for the future. But no, you can say that I’m screwed up, but I am excited certainly not because this is clean energy, but because my phone will never go flat again. For unlimited phone battery, I’m sure we wouldn’t mind walking around with socks that reek of urine all the time.

Come on, I believe you feel the same way too.
