The Koreans may think that eye bags, or aegyo sal are adorable, but they are not to be confused with purplish dark eye bags that result from a lack of sleep and ageing–those are unattractive pretty much anywhere.

If you hate your eye bags like vampires hate garlic, the following tricks might just help.

Almond Oil

Your eye area is extremely delicate and thinner than the rest of your body. Massaging the area with almond oil, which is anti-inflammatory in nature will help to de-puff your eye bags and lighten dark circles.

Simply apply the almond oil before you go to bed every night and wash off in the morning.

Sleep Facing Upwards

Sleeping on your sides and on your stomach draws fluids to your eye area, thanks to gravity. Instead, opt to sleep on your back facing up.

Reduce Salt Intake

Water will always find its way from areas of low sodium to areas of high sodium. The area around your eye area is a good example of the latter.

Eating too much salt will result in more puffiness around the eye area.

Drink More Water

Since the body is made up of 70% water, it’s important to stay hydrated. Drink more water to reduce dehydration under your eyes which reduces water retention.

Potatoes

Potatoes are terrific at reducing under eye puffiness. Sprinkle some water onto your eyes and place two slices of freshly sliced potatoes on your eyes for 10-15 minutes.

You’ll notice a significant reduction in the size of your eye bags.

Cucumbers

Like potatoes, cucumbers are fantastic natural remedies to reduce your under eye bags. Place two slices of fresh refrigerated cucumbers on your eye bags and leave it on for 25 minutes.

Enjoy the cooling sensation or even take a quick nap. The anti-inflammatory properties of cucumber will help de-puff those eye bags.
