So for this week’s Thirsty Thursday, we’re going to go with something interesting. Something that you’ve perhaps heard of before. It’s Iced Lemon Tea, but there’s a twist to it.
This time, it’s Pokka’s Teazzle Sparkling Iced Lemon Tea.
Now I know what you’re thinking. Or maybe I don’t.
Last week, we reviewed the Ice Mountain Sparkling Peach Flavoured Water, but this isn’t anything like that, I’m sure, because it isn’t flavoured water. It’s an actual soft drink.
The Packaging
Anyway, moving on, the can is metallic silver, with just a hint of pazzazle in the front. And it has the words “Sparkling Ice Tea” written in cursive on the front. With all that fizz in the drink, you get “Teazzle”, apparently.
The serving size is a standard 325ml, and the can even has information about how the drink was “Made with carefully selected tea and real fruit juice with no artificial sweeteners!”
Well, we’ll see how that goes when we do an actual taste test later on.
The drink also boasts to be “Lower in sugar”, making it the “Healthier Choice for maximum sizzling enjoyment”.
And it also says that the drink is best served chilled but seeing as to how our office is so rundown that we don’t even have a working refrigerator, we’ll have to make do with room temperature Teazzle.
Here’s a side view of the nice packaging:
The Taste Test
Opening the can and pouring the tea shows many bubbles rising to the top, so I guess you should be able to tell that this will be quite the sparkle for your tongue.
A taste test reveals that the drink has the right amount of fizz without empowering the lemon juice and the tea. This makes a good balance between all three, allowing you to savour the sweetness and slight sourness.
Since this is a healthier choice, I can definitely see more people opting for this drink instead of the usual fizzy drinks that we’re all in love with.
So next time when you’re in a convenience store and you’re looking for something bubbly to counter the sweltering heat of our country, reach for this instead! It’s healthier after all!
