If you’ve yet to hear the viral song Pen Pineapple Apple Pen, I don’t know where you’ve been.
But anyways, since the song took the world by storm, there has been numerous parodies of it. The Hong Kong Police even jumped on the bandwagon and made a parody that encourages people to put on their seatbelt.
And lest you’re not aware, two DJs from YES 933 came out with a Chinese version.
What’s even more interesting is that the creator of Pen Pineapple Apple Pen has even come out with a tutorial on how to sing and do the dance correctly (if there’s even a “correct” version).
But what we need now is a Hokkien version, because bo Hokkien bo swee leh.
In comes ETtoday, a Taiwan media company. They’ve helpfully dubbed the tutorial in Chinese…and the song in Hokkien.
Perfect for Singaporeans like us who know that the mixture of Chinese + Hokkien is a clear winner.
And we just love one of the comments there.
Thug life, indeed.
