When we were young, most of us would cling onto our favorite toys, or bolster – better known as chou chou (which means smelly smelly in Mandarin).
I remembered when my mum threw my chou chou at the staircase, I sneaked out of the house and brought it back home.
Can I just say that my mum had a shock of her life when she saw that bolster back at home?
Unlike my mum who threw my favourite bolster, this little girl’s mum understood that her favourite doll was more than just “a toy”.
P/s: I’m not blaming you, mum.
Fractured Thigh Bone
In New Delhi, an 11-month old baby, Zikra, fractured her thigh bone and was sent to Lok Nayak’s hospital for treatment.
When she was sent to the hospital, the poor girl refused to cooperate with the doctor as she was not ready to accept any treatment.
Just like any kid, you know.
Favourite Doll To The Rescue
Zikra’s mum then came up with an amazing idea that she knew would definitely work – to give Zikra’s favourite doll a similar medical treatment.
Upon seeing her doll friend receiving such treatment, Zikra accepted the treatment and is recovering well.
Her mum said that Zikra has been playing with the doll since birth and treats the doll as her friend.
She even named the doll Pari.
Dr Ajay Gupta, Zikra’s doctor, praised Zikra’s mum for her timely intervention and said that this incident has also improved the atmosphere of the hospital.
So, the next time around, keep your kid’s favourite toys and give it to them whenever they are refusing something.
Don’t throw it at the staircase.
