Unlike when that annoying classmate of yours gives you a ring, when nature calls, you’re kind of forced to answer.
But what would you do if nature blew up your phone while you were on the bus?
- Wait
- Wait and try not to think about rushing rivers
- Pee your pants
Options 1 and 2 seem the most appealing here, for reasons I don’t think I have to explain.
One man did something a little different, however: he asked the bus driver to speed up, alighted, and then went back up the bus and attacked the driver.
All because he had to pee.
Man Jailed for Attacking Bus Driver As He Needed to Use the Toilet Urgently
The incident occurred on 5 Nov last year, on bus service 61.
63-year-old Isman Abdullah had boarded the bus along Macpherson Road at about 10.15pm, with his mask pulled down to his chin.
He only pulled it back over his nose after the bus driver, Mr Chan Ka Yang, reminded him to do so.
At one of the bus stops along the way, Mr Chan had stopped to give a commuter directions, as many bus drivers do. He then asked the commuter to board the bus.
At this point, Isman was annoyed with this delay, which he perceived to be unnecessary, as he needed to urinate.
So, he asked the driver to explain the delay, becoming verbally aggressive in the process, and demanded that he speed up.
At around 10:32pm, around 17 minutes after boarding, the 63-year-old pressed the bell repeatedly to alight, and got off the bus from the back door.
Here, most of us would rush home or to the nearest bathroom to pee, right?
But instead, Isman became irritated when he saw another commuter asking Mr Chan for directions.
So, he walked up to the front of the bus, shouted at Mr Chan (with his mask pulled down), and then went up to the driver and shoved his face.
After Isman left the bus, Mr Chan immediately closed the doors. He did not retaliate to the 63-year-old man’s attack.
Fortunately for Mr Chan, who sustained minor bruising, the attack was caught on surveillance cameras.
Man Jailed & Fined, Says He “Regrets” Actions
Yesterday (5 Oct), Isman was sentenced to five weeks in jail and fined $1,000 for voluntarily causing hurt to Mr Chan and not wearing a mask.
Isman, who was not represented by a lawyer, said he “regretted” his mistake, adding that he’s a cleaner who has three kids.
So, what have we learned today?
Reader: Always pee before taking buses?
Exactly.
