Calling all fellow Trevor Noah fans!
As part of his Loud and Clear Tour, Trevor is coming to Singapore for a show in August this year, for one night only. So you better start saving up!
What’s that? I can almost hear some of you whispering “Who is Trevor Noah?” with a confused look. Shame.
Quick bio: Trevor Noah is a South American comedian (or as Wikipedia generously describes: comedian, writer, producer, political commentator and actor) based in the USA.
He is more commonly known to us YouTube-dwellers as the host for the Daily Show on Comedy Central, with his show format not dissimilar to other famous talk shows (think of Jimmy Kimmel/Conan, but with fewer interviews and more comedy skits).
You may also find him on Netflix.
More about Trevor!
Impressions
Here we can see him doing a pretty darn good impression of Donald Trump. And if I might add, Melania Trump.
Strengths
Trevor Noah’s strength lies not just in his penchant for hitting the right notes in political satire, but his fondness of incorporating impressions and accents in his comedy.
He is a multi-talented individual and can impressively speak eight languages.
The languages are: English, Xhosa, Zulu, Sotho, Tswana, Tsonga, Afrikaans, and German – one could infer that this greatly aids him in pulling off impression after accent after impression. (Meanwhile, most of us are struggling with our mother tongue in Singapore)
He was in Black Panther
Yes, that Marvel movie that we all love. Did you know that Trevor Noah was part of it too? You will never guess what his role was.
