Hey guys, it’s #TGIFF again! That means it’s time for us to steal our boss’ credit card and order some fast food for ourselves!
Ahh, I simply can’t think of a better way to end the week! (Take that, credit card!)
Anyway, I’m sure most of you are familiar with Yoshinoya, right? After all, they are known for their affordable and convenient beef bowls.
Back when I was still a student, I frequented the place as a couple of my friends really enjoyed the food there.
I’ve always ordered the same thing—their signature beef bowl. For reasons unknown, it never occurred to me that I should try something different.
Which might explain why I haven’t heard of their Tsukune Meatballs Curry Rice until today! (It might be a new item, but I have absolutely no idea)
As always, let’s take a look at the menu and how the meal’s supposed to look like!
Tucked away in a cosy corner of the menu is a tiny image of how the meal is supposed to look like. Here, allow me to enlarge the image:
Well, it looks really basic. But once again, it’s the taste that matters, right?
With that in mind, we reached out for the box and opened up the container.
Uhhh. Wow. It…It really is basic. ( °H°)
And we can’t really complain about it, since this was really all that was promised for the meal.
…This is going to be another fast review, isn’t it?
For starters, let’s take a look at the meatball:
Well, I’ll be.
Although it may appear to be dry on the outside, the meatballs are actually quite juicy! The meat is tender and a little sweet too, which makes it a perfect combination together with the rice!
…If only the rice were up to standard. While the meatballs were nice, the rice was a little too hard. For the most of it, it’s just a box of unimpressive Japanese white rice. However, every now and then there were grains of rice which are tough as nails.
To be fair, this might just be a one-time thing, you know. The person cooking the rice might have messed up. As with all fast-food reviews, you have to take human errors into consideration.
Now, let’s check out the curry, shall we?
Hmm, the curry is pretty average. It’s your standard non-spicy Japanese curry variant. However, it’s good to note that they actually gave a lot of curry. So if you’re someone who loves to drench their rice with sauce, this might just be your thing!

Verdict: 3/5
It’s not a horrible meal. It was filling and the meatballs were nice. However, it would be great if they could give an extra meatball or two!
Since we got the food via delivery, I would assume that it would be nicer if you were to have it in their stall!
And that’s all we have for you today! Stay tuned next week for another chapter of #TGIFF!
Since you’re here, why not watch a video about a guy who lodged a Police report here in Singapore because he was friendzoned? Seriously. Here, watch it and do remember to share it (and also subscribe to Goody Feed YouTube channel)!
