Trump’s Doctor Said Trump Can Return to Public Event on Saturday, 10 Days After Being Diagnosed with COVID-19

If you contract Covid-19, you’re probably going to be isolated for a long time.

If your symptoms are severe, you’d be hospitalised, and if you’re asymptomatic, you’d be quarantined along with other asymptomatic cases until you test negative for the virus.

This seems like common sense, right? Isolating yourself from the community to avoid infecting others.

Unfortunately for the US, their president wasn’t blessed with a substantial amount of common sense.

Trump’s Doctor Said Trump Can Return to Public Event on Saturday, 10 Days After Being Diagnosed with COVID-19

Just 10 days after his Covid-19 diagnosis, Trump aims to return to public engagements, with the blessing of his doctor.

According to ReutersTrump’s doctor said the president had completed his course of Covid-19 therapy and remained stable since returning to the White House.

Trump tested positive for the coronavirus last Friday (2 Oct), sending shock waves across, well, nowhere.

He was hospitalised on the same day due to concerning symptoms, but was discharged just three days later, and returned to the White House.

The 79-year-old was administered two experimental treatments  – a five-day course of remdesivir – an antiviral drug – and an intravenous dose of an antibody cocktail.

Now, Trump’s doctor – Dr Sean Conley – says he has completed his treatment and has responded “extremely well” to it.

“Since returning home, his physical exam has remained stable and devoid of any indications to suggest progression of illness,” Dr Conley wrote.

“Saturday will be day 10 since Thursday’s diagnosis, and based on the trajectory of advanced diagnostics the team has been conducting, I fully anticipate the President’s safe return to public engagements at that time.”

Now, you’re probably thinking that if a doctor says it’s safe to do something, it’s likely safe to do it.

But what you’re forgetting is that this is not any old doctor. This is Donald Trump’s doctor.

Can We Trust Dr Conley?

There’s a strange phenomenon that’s been occurring in the last four years in the White House.

Anyone who comes within 2 metres of the president starts lying or hiding information from the public.

And this includes his doctor.

Just have a look at how Dr Conley responded to questions about whether Trump received supplemental oxygen on the day he contracted Covid-19.

For those who missed our previous articles, Trump had indeed received supplemental oxygen twice, but his people wanted to keep it a secret.

So, when Dr Conley was asked about it on Saturday (3 Oct), he repeatedly dodged the reporter’s questions:

Reporter: He has not received any supplemental oxygen?

Dr Conley: He’s not on oxygen right now, that’s right.

Reporter: He’s not received any at all?

Dr Conley: He’s- he’s not needed any uh… this morning, today at all, that’s right.

Reporter: Can I pin you down on one thing? Has he ever been on supplemental oxygen?

Dr Conley: Right now, he is not on oxygen… Yesterday and today he was not on oxygen.

If you were a reporter at that press conference, you might have spontaneously combusted out of frustration.

No Indication that Trump has Tested Negative

Another reason to worry about Trump returning to public events is that the White House has declined to say when the president last tested negative test for the virus.

And if they don’t want to say, it likely means he’s still positive.

Trump has constantly played down his symptoms ever since he tested positive, but some have pointed out that he’s been given a cocktail of several drugs because he’s been experiencing severe symptoms.

Since it’s Trump, though, we’ll probably never know.

Public Engagements

So, why is this alarming?

See, when Dr Conley said “public engagements”, he wasn’t just talking about press conferences with 20 reporters.

As you know, Trump loves holding a rally, and even held several of them during the pandemic without implementing any safety measures.

Now, even though he has Covid-19, Trump plans to organise another rally, with thousands of attendees, most of whom won’t be social distancing or wearing masks.

“I’d love to do a rally tonight. I wanted to do one last night,” Trump said, adding that “if I’m at a rally, I stand by myself very far away from everybody,” he told Fox Business Network.

Good luck, USA.
