Trump Claims US Has ‘Shut Down’ Wuhan Virus But a New Confirmed Case Was Just Announced

See the thing we should all know by now is that Trump says a lot of things.

For example, did you know that Trump claims that he invented the term “fake news”?

And this time, it’s no different.

Trump Claims US Has ‘Shut Down’ Wuhan Virus But a New Confirmed Case Was Just Announced

Trump has very confidently claimed that he has ‘shut down’ the Wuhan Virus.

He first says that the US has taken action to protect Americans from the deadly novel coronavirus while also rendering help to China.

However, he then continues on to tell Fox television in an interview that, “We’re gonna see what happens, but we did shut it down, yes.”

According to The Straits Times, Trump seemed to be downplaying the worry and concerns of the Wuhan virus that has thus far killed over 350 people in China.

The deadly virus has also spread to over 20 countries.

The United States has since declared it a public health emergency and has banned foreign nationals who have recently been to China from entering the US.

US citizens who have travelled to China within the past 14 days, on the other hand, will be redirected to one of seven airports which will screen them.

Trump told Fox during the interview, “We can’t have thousands of people coming in who may have this problem – the coronavirus.”

He also mentioned that the US has offered China “tremendous help” in light of the Wuhan virus.

There Are Still New Cases Despite Trump Claiming Wuhan Virus Has Been Shut Down

Though Trump has claimed that he has “shut down” the Wuhan virus, it appears that the virus is doing quite the very opposite.

In fact, new cases of the novel coronavirus have been reported. California health officials have confirmed 11 cases of the coronavirus in the United States.

One was found in Santa Clara County while two others were found in San Benito County.

In the former, a woman and the family she is staying with are undergoing quarantine and she is now in isolation at their home as she isn’t sick enough to require hospitalisation.

The woman had recently travelled to the core of the Wuhan virus outbreak and is the second case in Santa Clara. However, these two cases are not related.
