Two Men Arrested Over F1 Trespass; One Allegedly Entered Area Reserved for Staff & Artistes

Two men, aged 35 and 39, were arrested on 9 October 2026 over alleged criminal trespass involving the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix event grounds.

The 39-year-old allegedly entered the venue before making his way into a restricted section reserved for event staff and performing artistes.

In a statement on 10 October, police said they would charge him that day with two counts of criminal trespass. Investigations into the 35-year-old were continuing.

One Man Was Turned Away At The Entrance

According to the police’s preliminary findings, the pair tried to enter the event grounds via Temasek Avenue at about 1:45pm on 9 October. The two men knew each other.

The younger man’s ticket failed the entry check, and he was refused admission. The older man allegedly got inside even though his ticket was also invalid.

Police said the 39-year-old subsequently entered the section for staff and artistes without permission.

Event staff later found and detained him inside the venue. At about 3pm, police received a report about his detention and arrested him at the scene.

The 35-year-old was arrested separately along Temasek Boulevard.

Police Warn Against Entering Restricted Areas

The two charges announced for the older man fall under Section 447 of the Penal Code 1871. A conviction for criminal trespass can result in up to three months in jail, a fine of up to S$1,500, or both.

Police warned that people entering restricted sections without permission could put security and safety at major events at risk.

They urged attendees to follow organisers’ entry controls and ensure they had permission to access each area, adding that offenders would face enforcement action.
