CNY is just around the corner and you know what that means—good food, red packets and glorious delectable bak kwas.
Yes, bak kwas need its own mention.
So, if you’re still in the midst of preparing an extensive CNY dinner for your family and friends, there is good news.
If you’re a procrastinator like me—I mean, diamonds are made under pressure—you’d be glad to know that supermarkets aren’t closing its doors during CNY.
Heck, they are even extending their opening hours in the days leading up to CNY.
NTUC Fairprice
On the first day of CNY (16 Feb), they will keep their 138 stores open which is 90% of their outlets, The Straits Times reported.
Out of the 138 stores, 24 stores will operate for 24 hours, such as outlets in Bukit Batok East, Clementi Avenue 2 and Sengkang East.
For the full line-up, here is the list.
Cold Storage
If you’re looking for more atas ingredients, then you’re in luck coz only 4 outlets are closed during CNY (16-17 Feb).
Their outlets in Marina One, One North, Takashimaya and Havelock 2 will be closed.
But hey, those are in the atas areas, and I am pretty sure there will be a Cold Storage near you that is operating.
You can check it here.
Giant
This supermarket behemoth has the best lobangs, perfect if you’re cooking for your extended family!
All their stores will be operating as usual during CNY (16-17 Feb) and selected stores will be extending their operating hours, including their Tampines Hypermarket and IMM Hypermarket which will operate 24 hours on the eve of CNY eve.
