Sometimes in this world, mysterious forces are at work.
Maybe you accidentally bump into someone and he flips you off.
However, in the next moment, he’s tripped over laces and falls on his behind.
And if you believe in it, it’s called karma.
If you’re a kinder soul, perhaps you think some people don’t deserve it no matter what.
But in today’s tale, you definitely can’t argue otherwise.
Instant Justice
Karma comes even quicker if you’re in front of a police officer.
According to CNA, a 34-year-old man will be charged on 2 September for insulting a traffic police officer.
What exactly happened?
Back on 29 May, the traffic police officer used a messaging platform to contact him.
The man apparently had two traffic offences and had not paid the fine for either of them.
Prior to this message, the police also reported that the man did not pick up a phone call from the same officer.
A normal person would just apologise, pay up and let the situation conclude.
Not this man, though.
Insulted the Officer
When the man finally responded to the officer’s message, he initially refused to pay up.
In fact, he actually proceeded to insult her.
Out of spite (or stupidity), he then started sending her upskirt images of an unknown person.
Because let’s admit it, if you were thinking clearly, you’d definitely not want to get out of trouble with a police officer by sending socially unacceptable images that you might have taken or downloaded.
Needless to say, the man was reported and the police arrested him on 3 June.
If found guilty of making insulting communication towards a public servant in relation to the execution of their duties, he can be fined up to S$5,000, jailed up to 12 months or both.
The police have taken this matter seriously and said that they do not tolerate people who abuse public servants.
But remember, that’s just one of his crimes.
If charges are pressed against him for the upskirt videos, he could also be tagged with the outrage of modesty.
The man could then be jailed for up to two years, fined, caned or a combination of any or all of them.
If you see anyone suspicious or outright doing such activity, you can report to the police here or call the police hotline at 1800-255-0000.
Unless someone is dumb enough to out themselves like this guy.
