UberEATS was recently in limelight for stealing parcels from homes.
But before anyone can absorb and digest (pun intended) the development, another uberEATS news broke out.
But this time, whoever is right or wrong isn’t as clear-cut anymore.
Here’s what we mean.
An uberEATS deliveryman dispute with condo security guard
On 22 Feb, the uberEATS deliveryman’s wife, Gabriella Victoria Shantell uploaded a video of a confrontation with a security guard at The Canopy, a condominium in Yishun.
The video went viral, with over 5,100 shares and 260k views. Most people took the side of the deliveryman, believing the security guard to be unreasonable and rude.
She claimed that her husband was delivering food to The Canopy condominium in Yishun and got into a dispute with the security guard at the main entrance.
The guard was rude and initially did not want to let him enter, but then changed his mind and grant him access.
However, it was when he was leaving that he met with a problem.
The same guard approached him and blocked him from getting to his e-scooter.
He claimed that the guard scolded him in a mixture of Mandarin and English, after which he took out his phone to film the incident.
Filmed himself asking the guard to move away
In the video, he could be heard asking the guard to “move away”, and asking why the guard is making trouble for him.
The guard, on the other hand, refused to move and continued blocking the way. It was also shown in the video that Sedik’s slippers were beside the e-scooter.
The police were alerted to the incident and an arrest was made.

Here comes the real twist to the saga
So here you are, thinking: police arrest security guard, case closed. Right?
Wrong. The uberEATS deliveryman was arrested instead for committing a rash act
He allegedly collided with the security guard on his e-scooter when he was stopped from leaving the premises.
This is reportedly why the security guard was trying to stop the deliveryman from getting to his e-scooter while the management calls the police.
It was mentioned that the entire dispute lasted 30 minutes and the guard was injured.
The management is considering taking legal actions against the deliveryman after consulting with their lawyers.
So there you have it, both sides with a totally different story.
