If your name is Wang Leehom, you must’ve been living a good life for the last twenty years, but the last twenty days must’ve been dreadful for you.
Other than being the most-talked person in Asia, you’d lost brand deals, hinted by the China Government that you might be blacklisted, got exposed by your ex-wife and most probably have been cancelled in the entertainment industry.
If your name is indeed Wang Leehom and you somehow have no idea what I’m talking about, watch these two videos to the end first:
But, just like any popular celebrity, you still have your side business, right? Those are not going to be affected since—
Reality: Hold my beer
Wang Leehom’s Clothing Label Caught Lying Red-Handed
Just like in Singapore, livestreaming is a big thing over in other countries, and it has become several businesses’ main sales channel.
Like Wang Leehom’s clothing line, Descendants of the Dragon.
Ever since his ex-wife’s bombshell exposé, multiple online shopping platforms have reportedly removed the brand from their platforms.
No problem, right, since he could just get someone to sell via livestreaming?
Except that…that caused a problem, too.
According to Apple Daily, during one of the livestreams, the host overpromised so much that it became an outright lie.
The host showed this embroidery from a jacket that was allegedly designed by Wang Leehom himself, and proudly said that it was snipped off from a very valuable antique and therefore was worth a lot of money.
But without a name drop, it won’t work, so the host claimed that they bought it “at a high price from the Suzhou Museum Research Centre.”
Maybe she thought she could do a Raeesah Khan, but as we all know, sometimes, you need to substantiate the claim and don’t try to take it to the grave.
The museum responded in a Weibo post, saying that that is untrue because they do not sell anything and are merely “helping to preserve them for the next generation.”
In addition, they’re currently not collaborating with any celebrity without mentioning any name.
Ouch.

Saga Is Now Over
Since his apology on 20 December 2021, Wang Leehom hasn’t made any public statement, while his ex-wife has said that his apology has led to the closure of this saga.
In addition, Vivian Hsu, a rumoured third party in their marriage, also claimed that the entire saga is now over.
With this, let’s hope that when the borders are finally reopened, we can get Wang Leehom as our Uber driver.
