Messaging apps have undoubtedly transcended how people communicate, making it faster and easier to pass on information.
One of the first significant apps that first came about is Whatsapp, and until this day, it is still a force to be reckoned with despite the many jokes about it being a “boomer’s” application.
To keep up to date with its competition and consumers’ feedback, WhatsApp consistently churns out updates to ensure that its application is working at its finest.
However, these updates may not always be ideal, at least for a handful of people, as the updates would mean that older devices may not be compatible with the app, which is the situation some will be facing on 31 Dec 2022.
Will No Longer Work on More Than 40 Devices
The list of phones that will not be compatible with the application contains phones that are pretty old. So, if you have changed your phone in the past three to four years, you should be relatively safe from this update.
Prior to WhatsApp stopping operations on your preferred operating system, you will be notified directly in WhatsApp ahead of time and reminded a few times to upgrade according to their website.

If you are one of those people who own a phone on this list, do note that the only way to continue using WhatsApp is to change to another phone that is compatible with the messaging app.
