Yes, you read that right. The wife and the girlfriend of a Malaysian man both commited suicide, after their husband/boyfriend died from a fall.
Here’s what happened.
48YO Malaysian Man Died on 22 July
According to the Malaysian newspaper China Press, the 48-year-old Mr Bai Guo Liang had a fall on 3pm, 22 July. He subsequently died in his own home at Kuantan, Malaysia.
Prior to his fall, he was diagnosed with stage five kidney cancer.
His 38-year-old wife, Ms Liu, was the one to find him after returning home in the evening. She reportedly cried to her neighbours, who tried to comfort her.
Unfortunately, it seems like the death was too much to handle.
Wife and Girlfriend Commit Suicide
Not long after discovering Mr Bai’s death, the police were alerted to another incident at their house at 1.28 am on 23 July.
It turned out that Ms Liu, together with Mr Bai’s girlfriend Ms Luo, had committed suicide. Ms Luo had reportedly hanged herself in the living room, while Ms Liu hanged herself in another room upstairs.
Mr Bai’s 13-year-old son was the one who found the women, and he called his other family members for help. It is presumed that the family members alerted the police.
The women had no suspicious injuries, and all their belongings were accounted for. Investigations showed that there was no foul play involved.
According to the son, the women were believed to have taken their own lives, as they were too overwhelmed with grief from their significant other’s death. He added that right before the incident, he saw both women holding onto ropes.

Wife and Girlfriend Lived Together with Man
According to China Press, Mr Bai lived together with his wife, girlfriend, and son. The family of four reportedly got along well without any issues.
The family intended to hold all three funerals together, but one of the women was diagnosed with COVID-19 after death. Thus, her funeral will be postponed.
As for the 13-year-old son, he must have had a hard time after suddenly losing all three of his immediate family members. We can only hope that he is being taken care of by other relatives after this tragedy.
