Previously, a Covid-19 patient opened up about her experience in ICU, praising medical workers who attended to her.
And another Covid-19 patient revealed that his nurse has a kid and a pregnant wife waiting for him back at home on 19 Feb 2020.
And now, a Chinese lady has stepped forward to share an 8-minute vlog of her two-day isolation at the National Centre For Infectious Diseases (NCID).
Just Returned From China & Felt Unwell During 14-Day Quarantine
Fan Zhao Han has just returned from Henan, China and is serving out her 14-day Quarantine Order.
During this period, she felt unwell and went to a nearby GP clinic.
Because of her symptoms and her recent travel history, the GP immediately separated her from the rest of the patients in the clinic and sent her to NCID for checks.
Isolated at NCID
When she was sent to NCID, she had to go for an x-ray.
The test did not detect any abnormalities.
However, because she had just returned from Henan, which is China’s third-most-affected province, and she was suffering from a throat discomfort, NCID decided to isolate her at their facility.
During her stay, she also has to undergo Nucleic Acid Tests (NATs) twice every day.
Which, according to the video, hurts. For the test, a 10cm long cotton swab has to be inserted into her nose.
Spacious Room, Beautiful View, Room Service & Caring Nurses
She has to stay in her own room around the clock and wasn’t allowed outside while in isolation.
In her video, you can see that her room is spacious and well-lit with a beautiful view of the cityscape.
Food was delivered to her via a special container by staff to prevent the spread of the virus.
She added that the food during her stay was “quite nice” as well.
Yup, it’s almost like a 5-star hotel stay.
Anxious But Thankful For Warmth Of Medical Staff
Throughout her stay, Fan was anxious about her test results even though she felt fine physically.
She was thankful for the warmth of the caring medical staff at NCID.
In her video, she also urges for people to see a doctor if unwell. She asks for people not to be afraid of seeking medical help or isolation.
After all, even when you’re isolated, she says, the medical workers (there) will give you warmth.
Plus, the medical bills are paid for by the Singapore Government too.

A Common Point
Do you realise one common point in all three experiences?
They’re all thankful to the brave medical frontline workers who, even while afraid of Covid-19, will treat these patients with warmth and care.
So, let’s all ask ourselves, do these selfless and brave individuals deserve our scorn and discrimination?
Instead of asking, why is she sitting here, when you see a nurse eating at the food court, why not go up to her and say thank you?
After all, we’re all more capable of rallying together against something other than people dissing our ice cream sandwich lor. Agree?
