Worker Cut Fish on Floor in a Steamboat Stall and Went Viral for all the Wrong Reasons

As a fellow Bukit Panjang kia, I don’t feel proud writing about this.

“But hey, since you’re from Bukit Panjang, you should write everything related to BP, right?” said my dear, handsome and absolutely lovable editor (let me know if he changes my description).

Oh well.

Anyway, a stall assistant from a fish head steamboat stall was seen descaling and cutting fish on the floor. Luckily (for consumers), his actions were captured on video and shared on the internet.

(Oh no, I was actually planning to have fish soup for dinner. Guess not for today.)

According to Zaobao, the worker is from Jia Wang Fishhead Steamboat.

The man who took the video said the following:

“The surroundings were so dirty. Just watching it made me feel disgusted.”

He took the video as he felt that this is a breach of hygiene regulations.

Well, yeah. Not to mention it’s right beside the drain too.

Here’s the video for your viewing pleasure:

The spokesperson for the store, Mr Liu, has since apologised for the actions of the worker.

“It was a momentary lapse of judgement on the young worker’s part. I wish to apologise to all customers for his behaviour,” said Mr Liu.

Mr Liu has also added that the store has always taken food hygiene very seriously. He will also talk to the worker in the video regarding the importance of food hygiene.

No matter what, I believe the damage has already been done. It’ll probably take a while before people are willing to eat anything from the store.

Let’s hope that the store will be able to change the ways of the worker. I do want to enjoy some fish soup every now and then!

Hmm, I wonder if they will offer free fishhead steamboat as an apology.

Since you’re here, why not watch a video about an NTU student who went all out to impress his crush, only to end up in…tragedy? Here, watch it and do remember to share it (and also subscribe to Goody Feed YouTube channel)!
