Have you always wanted to be able to boil water overseas without having to worry about the cleanliness of the electrical appliances that the hotels or airbnbs provide?
It’s not about whether you’ve washed them or not, but sometimes, you just can’t get rid of the nagging feeling at the back of your mind that even if you’ve washed the appliance, there might still be some remnants of the dirt from people’s underwear.
I kid you not, there exist some people who use boiling appliances to wash their undergarments.

So yes, you’ve resorted to buying bottles of mineral water whenever you’re overseas because that’s definitely cleaner.
But the water won’t be hot. What if I want to make coffee or tea? Or what if I want to eat some cup noodles?
Well, Xiaomi has heard us, and they’ve given us a solution.
Introducing Their All-New Portable Electric Flask
Viomi, which is a household brand under Xiaomi, has launched a portable electric flask that allows one to boil water and store that water, making sure that it is still hot when you leave the hotel.
Standing at only 22.5cm tall, the flask is able to hold 400ml of water. The vacuum flask itself is 500g, making it very lightweight to put into your luggage when you travel overseas. You can even fit it in your tote bag.
So how does it work?
They have incorporated a power cord that is stored underneath the flask. You can pull that out easily and plug it into a power socket. It is important to note that since this is a China product, the plug will most likely be China’s three-pronged angled pin design, so in order to use it in Singapore, you will need to use an adapter.
The bottle is made out of 304 stainless steel which is said to help prevent bacteria build-up and corrosion.

Other Features Of The Flask
According to Xiaomi, it takes just six to eight minutes to boil 400ml of water.
Furthermore, to keep the water in the flask warm, you can simply tap the power button twice. This helps to warm the water to 50°C, which is perfect to warm you up especially when you’re in a cold country.
This is also good if you need to prepare baby milk when you’re on the go.
Price & Where To Get It
You’re probably thinking, with features this good, it’s probably cost quite a bit.
Well, it is actually pretty affordable and you can purchase one at $29.90 on the Qoo10 marketplace. This is similar to how much China is retailing it for, which is at ¥149 (~S$29).

There’s even free shipping by Singpost.
