Christmas will always hold a special place in my heart.
Apart from being born a day before, baby Jesus came into the world on Christmas! That’s the true meaning why we celebrate Christmas in the first place.
But for many, it’s about the snow, food and gatherings. Ah, talking about the fun factor… were you present for the Christmas light-up at Orchard on 11 November?
Here’s how it looks like:
Some photos just don’t do justice so go down, take a walk and experience it for yourselves!
The theme for this year’s Christmas at Orchard Road is Endless Wonder and it spans 2.88km, from Tanglin Mall to Plaza Singapura.
Longer than a 2.4km run.
Apart from being there for the lights, there’s another reason for you to drop by town because for the first time, a Christmas Village have been set up outside Ngee Ann City.
Christmas Village is officially opened and will run till 25 December!
Think traditional Christmas markets in Europe. That’s the idea!
What to expect?
A hole in your pocket. Figuratively.
The only FREE thing is the entrance fee. You can look forward to burning some cash at their pop-up stores featuring 25 brands, including Starbucks, Royal Selangor and Toast Box.
There will also be amusement rides and craft activities so the little ones can be occupied.
Besides the village, you can also look forward to photo-worthy highlights, including a 12m-tall main arch outside Ion Orchard and a 5m Enchanted Tree installation outside Wisma Atria.
There will also be live bands, carolers and cos-players staging performances during the festive period.
For me, I’m all ready to participate in Orchard Road’s Christmas Giveaway which gives you a chance to win $50 vouchers to be used at The Great Christmas Village!
Here’s how to participate.
Simply upload a photo of you and your favourite set piece onto Instagram with the hashtags #OrchardRdXmas, #VisitSingapore, and you might be one of the lucky 40 to receive $50 Shopping & Dining vouchers to the Great Christmas Village!
There are 5 set pieces so hop over to their Facebook Page to find out the locations:
Out of the 5, my favorite’s got to be the Walk of Wonder right outside Forum the Shopping Mall.
I mean, look at this:
Even if you don’t win the $50, do it for the gram. Go solo or in a group, it works fine because the fairy lights are beyond magical.
So what are you waiting for?
Oh right. The operating hours. Sorry, my bad. Here you go:
ENDLESS WONDERÂ CHRISTMAS VILLAGE 2017
Operating Hours:

Friday to Saturday: 11AM – 11PM

And here’s the layout for planners who can’t walk without a general direction:
That’s all from me. Over to you, pals! Have a jolly good time. 🙂
