The whole day’s been filled with negative news and we can all do with some positivity in our lives.

I was going to list down the top 10 cutest animals in the world but something better came along.

This article is going to make you go d’awww and melt into a gooey pile. Just like my boss’s tummy.

Something Heartwarming Happened At CCK

Cleaners (or anyone related to rubbish) aren’t very well-respected in Singapore.

Remember when you were young, and your mom goes: ah boy ah, if you don’t study hard, you’ll become a rubbish collector.

Yup, definitely not respected.

But on 19 Nov 2019, a really heartwarming post appeared on Facebook.

Facebook user Faiz Roslan uploaded images of a young boy, his mother and a SembCorp garbage truck driver.

The incident happened in front of Blk 551 Choa Chu Kang Street 52.

A young boy could be seen wanting to pass chocolates to the driver. And the mother, instead of pulling the kid away, held him higher so he can do so with his own hands.

And there might have been an exchange of flying kisses between the young boy and the driver.

Here is his post in Full:

And the captions in case you can’t read it:

Shared some chocolates, exchange a flying kiss. Thank them for keeping our hometown clean. Teach them to spread kindness from young.

Appreciate The Cleaners & Treat Them Nicely

Because they’re the unsung heroes of Singapore, working behind the scenes to keep Singapore clean and running.

We’re known as one of the cleanest cities in the world.

And cleaners are the reason why we have that title.

While we would love to say that Singapore is clean and green because Singaporeans don’t litter, we won’t.

Because that would be fake news.

Singaporeans Do Litter. A lot.

So much so that the Singapore government is making 26 April 2019 a CleanSG day.

On that day, cleaners will be given one day off so that residents themselves have to keep their estates clean.

The idea is that to let Singaporeans experience first-hand how trashy they are, and hope they’ll stop littering.

So love your cleaners and garbage collectors because they’re the ones that allow you to walk through your well-designed spanking new estates with a peace of mind.

Here’s a mission for you: the next time you see your residential estate cleaner? Give them a smile and a wave. They’ll appreciate it.
