Heroic Woman Gets Beaten Up While Saving Man From Three Attackers

With the recent influx of blockbuster superhero movies, one can’t help but pine for an actual superhero to take charge of the city. America would probably need one, seeing how The Penguin somehow sneaked into the presidential seat.

But unbeknownst to us, there are actual heroes bandying about, just without our knowledge and recognition. These masked heroes work tirelessly day in day out, all for the sake of protecting the nation.

And this female security guard happens to be one of them.

In a confrontation gone wrong, this brave soul stepped in to defend a helpless man, and ended up getting beaten up herself.

Talk about a heroine we need, but don’t deserve!

What happened?

According to Free Malaysia Today, it all started when the heroine, Chew, 59, had blocked a visitor from entering the condominium. The visitor had tried entering the guard’s post (that was meant for residents) with an access card, at around 8:30 p.m.

Right off the bat, a resident (whose house was on the ground floor and located near the guard house) started reprimanding Chew for stopping his visitor from entering. Which is kind of unreasonable, if you think about it.

Meanwhile, Suthakar Kathirveloo, the committee chief of Tanjung Court Condominium, had intervened and tried assisting Chew with the matter.

“At that time, I had just returned from shopping with my family. I alighted from my car and advised the men to head to another gate meant for visitors,” said Suthakar.

But things didn’t ease up. The men got angry at Suthakar instead and started scolding him as well.

“They got angry and started hurling profanities at me, saying ‘you tahu ini hari apa?‘ (do you know what day it is?) repeatedly. I suppose he meant the reunion dinner on Chinese New Year’s Eve,” added Suthakar.

And that was when the fists came flying in.

One man pulled Suthakar’s hand and reprimanded him. Another older man actually tried to punch him, but Chew intervened and effectively saved Suthakar.

“The situation was very tense because a few men had circled us and I feared that they might bash us up. So, I went back to my car, fearing for my safety,” he said.

However, the men were still not contented, as they began knocking on his car while threatening him and his family.

Later on, Chew’s valiant efforts would see her being pushed to the ground by a shirtless man who proceeded to punch her. Thankfully, the fight ended early when another man successfully held back the shirtless man.

Police report

The very next day, Suthakar made a police report  but it was for naught as Chew reportedly settled the matter with the assailants a few days later. According to reports, Chew had let the matter go with an RM200 cash compensation from them.

If you’re wondering whether an RM200 sum actually justifies such a brash act, the Tenaganita director, Aegile Fernandez has a suggestion to make.

“I am definite she has been threatened. Therefore, she must have been afraid for herself and her family,” Aegile said.

As such, she has urged the police to launch immediate investigations. A human rights group has also stepped up, calling the police to charge the three assailants.

Thoughts

Now, I might not be a particularly knowledgeable person.

But even I can tell that the security guard’s one helluva woman.

Kudos, and I sure as heck want someone like her to be my estate’s security guard!

On another note, it’s one thing to be denied something.

It’s quite another to be denied something and blow your fists over it.

And considering the fact that it’s three grown men doing it.

Seriously…?

And I haven’t even taken the alleged threats into account…
