Lest you’ve forgotten, on 2 July 2019, a fight occurred at Orchard Tower.
While it is definitely a common scene at Orchard Tower, which is why my mum would always tell me “Ah girl ah, don’t go Orchard Tower okay? There very messy,” on that very day, a what-seemed-to-be-yet-another-common sight turned into a murder case.
Recap Of The Case
If you have already forgotten about the case, or if the case is somewhat “blur-ish” in your memory, here’s a summary of what happened:
- A murder occurred on 2 July 2019, around 6 a.m. where the victim, Mr Satheesh, was had his throat slitted
- 6 men and 1 woman were charged with murder the following day.
- However, 3 of the 7 people had their charges reduced on 11 July 2019 and were out on bail
- The 3 are expected to be due in court today (29 Aug 2019)
Except…
One Of The Accused On The Loose
The three accused who are out on bail includes Chan Jia Xing, 26, Loo Boon Chong, 25, and Tan Hong Sheng, 22.
Before you start acting like all the other keyboard warriors worried netizens demanding for answers because “Why he charged with murder can be on bail?!”, these 3 guys actually had their charges reduced on 11 July 2019.
They are currently being charged with consorting with a person carrying an offensive weapon.
So yup, Tan actually jumped bail and failed to turn up in court today.
Mother Filed Police Report
Apparently, Tan’s mother had actually filed a police report 3 days back when her son went missing.
She was given 48 hours to locate her son. Which she was clearly unable to.
Tan is currently uncontactable and a warrant of arrest against him will be issued if he fails to appear in court on the specified date and time.
Tan’s mother will also be required to attend a hearing in October to explain what happened and why the bail amount should not be forfeited.
Netizens Aren’t Exactly The Kindest
At instances like this, we all know Netizens would have a lot to say.
But come on guys, I believe his parents are just as worried, and all these comments wouldn’t improve the situation.
My parents would always say: If you can’t help with improving the situation, the least you can do is to keep your comments to yourself.
