Still clueless about where to go this Christmas?
Here’s a list of the best places to go and you won’t have to spend a single cent.
Use the money to get a bottle of good wine, a pair of socks, whatever you wish.
1. Catch some snow
I know how hard it is to watch people play with snow overseas while all we get is a whole month of rain. While it keeps Singapore cool, what’s Christmas without snow?
So head on down to Tanglin Mall where they will literally shower you with the Christmas spirit. Just close your eyes and imagine you’re in somewhere cold.
2. See the lights
I’m sure all of us know about the lights at Orchard Road. They do have some pretty impressive installations. I mean just look at this walk-through tunnel.
While taking a stroll down the road is free, you might be lured into the stores and start digging out your wallet.
Don’t say I never warn you ah.
3. Immerse in the sound of music
Head on down to Keong Saik and Jiak Chuan for a festival of music.
For all you music lovers, the Urban Ventures Street Party x House of Noise 2017 will be featuring some of the local talents.
This joint collaboration with Noise Singapore will have 3 stages : Rock, Acoustic and Electric.
4. Magic at ION
Walk into this enchanting 20m Christmas tree put up by Pandora.
The outdoor plaza will also transform into a train station, a perfect spot for taking photos for the gram.
Don’t forget to look out for the new ION Sky! Dick Lee and his team have come up with a breathtaking experience to learn about the heritage and culture of Orchard Road and how much it has changed.
5. Make a wish
This annual tradition makes a return again. Head down to Esplanade Waterfront and make a wish on the bell charms!
It is a great opportunity to reflect on the past year and also think ahead for 2018.
6. Watch a free performance
Go to Esplanade and watch something for free! From choral music to classical, there’s bound to be something that you’ll like!
You can check out the list of performances here.
7. Catch the sanrio craze & the largest indoor drone show
Changi Airport is going to host the largest indoor drone show in Singapore. 40 drones will be lighting up T3’s Departure Hall to form Christmas images.
This sanrio-themed playground is known to be the first in Asian airports.
So now there’s one more reason to visit the world’s best airport!
8. Catch a sci-fi art show
Frank Herbet’s best-selling novel Dune comes to live in Dune: A Sci-fi Art Show. Mesmerise yourself in the paintings, prints and virtual reality installations!
9. Celebrate Christmas with your pets
Pets Jingle 2017 will be held on 9/12 and 10/12, and you can bring your pets along!
I mean nobody said pets can’t celebrate Christmas right?
There will be exciting stage programmes and healthcare seminars for you and your pet. As Christmas is a season of remembrance and giving, there will be a special Christmas Tree light-up in memory of pets that have already passed on.
10. Marina Bay Singapore Countdown 2018
If you’re still in the Christmas mood, join the crowd at Marina Bay as they say goodbye to 2017 and hello to 2018!
Since you’re here, why not watch a video about an NTU student who went all out to impress his crush, only to end up in…tragedy? Here, watch it and do remember to share it (and also subscribe to Goody Feed YouTube channel)!
