A long, long time ago, a pager was considered revolutionary, because it allowed us to communicate with others while we were not at home. That was the next best thing after Game Boy.
Wait, what? Didn’t you know what I’m talking about?
Then you’re such a young person, my little one. Long, long ago, we used these gadgets that were so high-tech we thought they couldn’t get better.
But they got better, and we got older.
This is the great grandfather of WhatsApp. It allows you to read a message on the go–the only thing is, it doesn’t allow you to send a message. But hey, we’ve got to start somewhere, eh?
Before people stream videos online, they watched videos with this thingy that is five times bigger than your smartphone. It’s called a VHS, which means a Very Huge Smartphone, right?
Sending someone a computer file means uploading the file into one of these badasses and passing it to that someone physically. And it must be less than 1.44 MB.
It’s ten cents for three minutes of call time. Make sure you’ve got many ten-cent coins or make sure you finish your conversation within three minutes.
In the past, you couldn’t preview your picture. You took a shot, hoped that it turned out well and then cried when you see someone photobombing.
We used to think that this could be the greatest thing to be invented ever. Until we see Windows 8, and we realised we were right.
Every boy, girl, man and woman has one. In fact, thirty years later, some of us still have this in our cupboards.
You boys and girls have got no idea how happy we uncles and aunties were when we upgraded to this. It was like the world was worth living after all.
The cool dudes would carry this badass on their shoulders and walk around Orchard Road. The poor dude would always want to have one of these.
Who the hell would have expected that in mere ten years, your smartphone would be much more powerful than this powerhouse?
