5 New COVID-19 Cases in S’pore Today; Good News Coz All Linked to Other Confirmed Cases

Today’s a good day.

Other than Phua Chu Kang coming out with a new COVID-19 video, the number of new COVID-19 cases has dropped by almost 50% compared to yesterday. And the best-est of all?

All new cases are linked to confirmed cases.

Here are the details.

5 New COVID-19 Cases in S’pore Today; All Linked to Other Confirmed Cases

There are five new COVID-19 cases today.

Of the five, three of them are linked to the Grace Assembly of God church, which makes it the largest local cluster now at 16 cases in total.

The three of them are all related to a 28-year-old Singaporean (Case 66) in the Grace Assembly of God church: two of them, a 79-year-old female Singaporean and a 27-year-old female Singaporean, are his family members. The third one, a 25-year-old male Singaporean, is a contact of Case 66.

The fourth patient is a 26-year-old Bangladesh national who has worked in the Seletar Aerospace Heights construction site, another known cluster.

The last patient is a 40-year-old Chinese national who has a work pass. He has no recent travel history to China and is a non-medical contact of a 61-year-old Singaporean, a healthcare professional, who was announced to be positive for the virus yesterday.

All in all, the total cases in Singapore is now at 72.

Updates on Confirmed Cases

So far, 18 people have fully recovered and are discharged from the hospital. 6 of them are in critical condition and are warded in ICU.

The remaining patients’ conditions are stable or are improving.

As of noon today, 107 cases are still pending.

A whopping 2,093 close contacts have also been identified, and 1,959 of them are still in Singapore. MOH has managed to contact 1,697 of them, and efforts to contact the remaining 262 contacts are still ongoing.
