To hear of lost lives is tragic, but even more so when it is the life of a young person.
On Monday (23 May), an 18-year-old teenager was found dead on a sheltered walkway behind The Clementi Mall.

The same day, videos began making rounds on social media which showed police officers attending to a case outside the mall.

The officers were seen standing on top of a walkway shelter near a KOI outlet.
However, what immediately caught viewers’ attention was the ominous blue tent on the shelter, indicating a fatal incident.
There were also bloodstains on the walkway shelter as well as on the ground beneath.
The surrounding area had been barricaded by the police, but many passersby still crowded around, curious as to what had happened.
TikTok users who had captured the scene claimed that a teen had fallen from the nearby block.
Netizens Express Sympathy
After viewing the videos on TikTok, many users expressed sadness for the life that was lost so young, hoping that the teen would rest in peace.
Others voiced out concern that youths in Singapore are facing “too much competition and stress” and urged that the situation needed to be addressed.

Teen Pronounced Dead At the Scene
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was alerted to the case at about 4.20pm on Monday, said a spokesperson.
The incident apparently took place at Block 441B along Clementi Avenue 3.
The police said they found an 18-year-old teen lying motionless upon arrival and an SCDF paramedic subsequently pronounced the teen dead at the scene.
The police have classified the case as an unnatural death and investigations are ongoing.
