Some of you guys would have probably hit the cinemas and relived your childhood nightmare for IT. I mean, let’s talk about Pennywise for a minute.
The clown is probably the scariest thing to have hit the cinemas 27 years ago, and now, it’s back to scare you senseless in 2017.
Not watched it yet? Probably coz you don’t want to scream in the cinemas, or the movie is just not your type?
Take these 5 reasons and read them – you’ll see why you need to watch one of the biggest box office hits for 2017.
About the Clown Sightings
In the US, there were a couple of clown sightings going around. Some people dressed as scary clowns and walked around schools. The buggers even jumped out of the dark to scare the public. It was mostly pranks, but the damage had kinda been done. Clowns were stamping themselves gleefully into making people fearful and scary.
That happened somewhere last year, and some people believed that it was publicity for this movie.
In fact, it got so bad, the sightings were even spotted in Malaysia.
How Stephen King Came Up With Pennywise the Clown
The dude is famous for so many scary movies (and novels, of course) – he’s got two more coming out within the next couple of months, Gerald’s Game and I Am The Doorway. And let’s not forget the recently released The Dark Tower.
Anyways, back to the story on the clown character. King was asking himself this: what could possibly be the scariest thing for a kid in the whole world?
And just like that, his brain clicked and the answer came – clowns. So that’s how he came up with the clown that preys on kids la!
Embrace Your Fears
Did you know that a poll conducted by Morning Consult showed that 42% of Americans had at least A LITTLE BIT of fear for clowns. To top that all off, a staggering 66% of people between the ages 18-29 were scared of pranksters with their faces painted on.
So, you dare face your fear or not? It might just work out and you’ll not be scared of clowns anymore.
The Highest Grossing Horror Flick Ever in US
IT has just kicked The Exorcist’s ass, and is now the highest-grosser for horror movies in America. As far as international grosses go, The Exorcist is still holding its seat. The last figure was US$236.3 million (domestic in US).
Why Else Should You Watch It?
Well, it’s got a great storyline, the acting is on point, and then there’s the camera angles. But if you ask me, the whole point of watching the movie is just to get scared out of your skin, and as far as this year goes, this movie takes the cake in horror films.
Here, take a look at its trailer.
So, you gonna buy yourself that movie ticket right now? You know you want to.
