Stepping Up Enforcement Checks During The Festive Season

In their statement, SPF said that there is “zero tolerance for secret society activities” and they will take action against anyone who chooses to be involved in gangs.

Anyone who is guilty of being a member of a secret society can be fined up to S$5,000, jailed up to three years, or both.

SPF advises that people steer clear of secret society activities, and if they have information, to report those engaging in such activities to the police.

Last week, the SPF arrested 24 other men on similar grounds.

From 15 to 26 Dec 2020, the SPF had carried out an operation to shut down criminal activities islandwide, including places like Clark Quay, Boat Quay and Orchard Road.

In total, SPF arrested 67 people in the entire operation, including 36 people caught partying at an unlicensed entertainment centre.
