Apple iPhone X VS Samsung Galaxy S9: Which Smartphone Should You Buy in 2018?

Last Updated on 2018-03-02 , 5:25 pm

If you’re currently planning on upgrading your smartphone, you will probably be facing this question:

Apple or Samsung?

Now, in many ways, it’s as tough a question as this one.

(Which for your information is probably the hardest decision I ever made in my life)

But worry not, for we have two structured ways to tell the better phone for you: appearance and camera quality. So without further ado…

Let’s begin comparing the two phones, shall we?

Appearance:

Both smartphones now come in all-glass design, which allows users to charge wirelessly as well as prevent you from leaving fingerprint residue all over your phone.

The S9 has not changed much as compared to S8; Samsung did, however, manage to cut off even more of the Galaxy S9 bezel.

The iPhone in comparison made a huge change, by making the screen go right to the edge of the phone’s frames, leaving a small cutout area at the top for the camera and sensors.

The similarity between both phones is that neither has a home button. The iPhone has a digital bar while the Galaxy S9 uses its original soft-touch navigation keys.

S9 has moved its fingerprint scanner from beside the back camera, to under the back camera. iPhone, on the other hand, has totally discarded its Touch ID scanner and changed to Face ID that even works in the dark (so damn convenient).

Camera:

To be honest, it’s 2018, the only words we use to describe smartphones are: size, battery and CAMERA! For all my photography lovers out there, let’s see the camera specs and qualities of both cameras.

Both cameras now have almost the same features – dual cameras at the back which allows users to capture a depth of field effect; blurring of the background while the main subject is in focus.

However, iPhone X offers Portrait Lighting option which gives a dramatic studio lighting effect with a black studio background.

The S9 is not far behind as well, it now features a low-light option with a setting of f/1.5 and able to shoot as slow as 960fps in HD!

So which would YOU prefer to get? The iPhone X with Face ID and studio lighting or the S9 which has an aperture of f/1.5 and shoot at 960 frames/second?
