Remember iPhone X? No? Here’s how it looks like.
Now, take an image of this phone with your mind because you’re going to see something interesting
ASUS just introduced their new phone and it looks exactly like an iPhone X
Yesterday, ASUS unveil their latest phone, the ASUS Zenfone 5Z, and one can’t help but to relate it to iPhone X.
The resemble is indeed uncanny.
Even ASUS kind of admitted it
ASUS global head of marketing, Marcel Campos, has this to say: “Some people will say it’s copying Apple, but we cannot get away from what users want. You have to follow the trends.”
In other words, people like this design, so they model it after that.
Even the back of the phone looks almost identical.
To be fair, it’s slightly larger.
Not to be confused with the ZenFone 5 released in 2014, this 2018 packs a punch within its casing: it has a 3300 mah battery, 8 GB RAM and an Octa-core, 1800 MHz.
With that kind of hardware, it’s almost comparable with the iPhone X—at almost half the price.
The phone, to be released in April (ZenFone 5) and June (ZenFone 5Z), is expected to cost SGD$750 for the ZenFone 5. Price for the ZenFone 5Z is not out yet, but it shouldn’t be as crazy as the iPhone X.
But that’s not the only correlation
During the launch in Mobile World Congress 2018, the phone is used to compare with another phone (skip to 22.17).
No prizes for which phone they chose.
But rather, it’s what they called the other phone that’s interesting.
The presenter proudly said that the notch is 26% smaller than “fruit phone”, causing some laughter and cheers.
Suffice to say, there should be some Apple haters in the crowd.
