On 8 January, Singapore faced it's worst fear. No, not skyrocketing housing prices. Fortunately. Rather, it's a flood. A damn flood. Here, in eastern Singapore. Image: Straits Times Which is nothing less than revolutionary, seeing how Singapore's famous for three things: chicken rice, ERP and it's rigid cycle of intense heat, heavy downpour, rinse and repeat. So a flash flood in Singapore's pretty much like Arsenal winning the EPL title. Everyone bats an eyelid. (Although granted, it did happen before. Barely two months ago, no less). Anyways, the flood this time's pretty rabak. If you thought the earlier picture was bad, you should check this out. Image: Straits Times Did you fricking see that? The car's pretty much half-submerged in the flood! Which means that you can totally go in for some skinny dipping without any entrance fees! And that's not even scratching the surface of it (alright it kinda did. A dead car's no joke no matter how your Uncle David tries to persuade you otherwise). Image: Hardwarezone Forum Guess that's one way to burn some calories before work, huh? Alright, I'm just jesting. It was a tough day, and I definitely wouldn't like to be in their shoes. It will ruin my already ruined brand new Aldo shoes, and get me all wet. Nope. Yet despite the gloominess of it all... One lady stands tall against adversity. Meet... the mysterious lady in blue. Image: ROADS.sg Facebook Page Now, one would usually curse at the wind (or even show the finger at the skies) if his/her golden Mercedes, for lack of a better phrase, kena fk by the flood. I mean; I'm just driving to work like any other day. Yet why does it have to happen today? This lady, however, adopted a more sunny approach. When she realised that her car (a golden Mercedes, mind you) was pretty much finished (the engine would have surely been flooded by then), the lady could only shrug and smile at the camera. Thanks.” Well, how do I put this... This woman's just incredible. Consideration, tolerance and independence, she's got it all. Image: ROADS.sg Facebook Page Kudos Again, I would like to express my heartfelt respect for this particular lady, and I honestly hope that her insurance would be able to cover her losses in full, if not more (one can only hope huh). In the meantime, I'm sure we can all emulate her example in the event that something like this happens to us... Which would be the politically correct answer, but hey, ain't nobody got time for that. You don't have to go out of the way like this lady, but at the very least, try not to situate your fallen car in the middle of the road. Don't be that jerk who tries to drag others down when he falls. And I'm saying that because I'm kinda like that. So don't be like me.
