Throughout her course of study, she was awarded a total of 11 academic and clinical medals, including the Lee Kuan Yew gold medal (best student throughout course of study), the Tratman Silver Medal (Most Distinguished Graduate) and the Dr FAC Oehlers Gold Medal (Best Clinical Student). Thereafter, she received her Masters in Periodontology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she was picked as one of four finalists in the reputable Orban competition. The very same year, she was also presented the North Carolina-AADR Turner Research award.
