Last year, local indie designer WHENIWASFOUR came out with this and everyone went crazy. Image: wheniwasfour.com I mean, it’s a bag that looks so much better that those brands that start with C or L or G. And the best part? There’s no straw, so they’re saving the environment! But unfortunately, as of now, I’ve not seen anyone carrying this around, so suffice to say it hasn’t gone mainstream. Then again, that’s what makes it unique: the scarcity. And it seems like another business is going this direction, this time a neighbour of ours. BMYTA In case you’re not aware, buying and selling on Facebook is big in Malaysia. There are people who do this full-time, selling their products merely through Facebook. Usually, they’ll publicize their products via Facebook groups (primarily those 吹水站 groups) and with the rather big market, renting a retail space isn’t necessary. In fact, some of them didn’t even use C2C platforms like Shopee to sell their products. Heck, they might not even have a website. After all, if you’d remember, Facebook live auctions (think: S-Hook Ah Lian) were popular in Malaysia before it spilled to Singapore. One such shop is BMYTA . 北冥有獭.
