In an incredibly Mr-Midnight-esque approach, a Chinese assessment book published by Marlinsons had a Satanic pentagram image to represent the Chinese word for “shapes”.
And the cherry on top? The pentagram is very noticeably dripping with blood.

Whoever selected that image was clearly having a very long night, or maybe they were possessed. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

In fact, the pentagram is inverted with the tip of the pentagram pointing down, which makes it resemble the Sigil of Baphomet (satanic symbol) that much more.
Reddit Exposé
The image was first exposed in a forum on Reddit, where netizens expressed their shock and mirth at the image.
The bloody pentagram in question was printed multiple times through the assessment book, at times defined as “shapes”, others as “all sorts of shapes”.

The offending image was also placed next to a sentence: “two sisters were in the kitchen making cookies of all sorts of shapes“.
My guess is that they were conducting some sort of culinary séance…? Halloween party perhaps?
Either way, Marlinsons has now apologised for the diabolical image, claiming that they were “unaware that this is a satanist symbol”, and that they “pledge to exercise greater care and improve our quality inspection system to prevent such mistakes from being made in the future”.
They have also recalled all of the assessment books.
