A male teenager was apprehended on Tuesday (11 April 2023) after being recorded engaging in an indecent act with a cat in the corridor of an HDB block in Bukit Panjang.
The police confirmed they had received a report about the alleged incident at Senja Road at 12:10 am on 11 April , leading to the teenager’s arrest.
What Happened
On 8 April 2023, shocking CCTV footage emerged showing a young male “humping” a cat outside an HDB flat in Bukit Panjang. The video has since been widely shared online.
The cat’s owner, Ismul, took to his Instagram Story on 10 April 2023, to share the video and seek justice for his pet.
In the disturbing one-minute video, a male youth is seen apparently assaulting the cat multiple times. Initially, the teen is seen lingering outside the residence, surveying the area. Once he is seemingly sure that nobody is around, he proceeds to pull down his pants and begins to assault the unsuspecting cat.
Visibly distressed, the cat attempts to escape from the boy after a few moments, but the teen picks up the animal to continue the act.
Ismul only became aware of this distressing event when his neighbour shared the CCTV footage with him. He also observed signs of trauma in his cat following the incident.
