Changi Airport Has a Changi Festive Village With Glamping, Staycation & A Lot More Activities

Previously, we wrote about how Tsum-Tsum goodness is waiting for you at Changi Airport.

Turns out, that’s not the only thing Changi Airport has in-store for people in Singapore this end-of-year.

Have you heard of glamping (aka glamorous camping)? Well, there’s all that, and more waiting for you at the former world number one airport.

Changi Airport Has a Changi Festive Village With Glamping, Staycation & A Lot More Activities

When it comes to the biggest exhibition space in Singapore, Changi Airport’s one of the largest here.

Don’t believe me? Check out how big their Changi Festive Village spans this year:

Yes, you saw the map right; The Changi Festive Village takes place across two terminals and Jewel.

The Changi Festival Village is making a return to the airport at the end of this year.

It’ll start on 26 Nov 2021 and end on 3 Jan 2022; plenty of time for everyone in Singapore to visit at least once while staying safe.

There’ll be a slew of activities waiting for you to try your hand at when you’re there during this period.

Terminal 3

The first on the list is the Dino Blitz, the centrepiece of the village this year.

It features two huge moving long-neck Brachiosauruses, measuring up to 12 metres in length.

Perfect for that holiday shot or even TikTok, don’t you think?

Location:

  • Terminal 3, Departure Hall, in front of Departure Immigration

This isn’t the only photo-taking zone in the terminal, either. There’s also the Tsum Tsum photo zones and affordable Tsum Tsum merchandise, which you can read more about here.

Terminal 4

Dino Kart 2.0; as the name suggests, it involves you racing in a kart with dinosaurs.

The race track features a 400-metre-long race track with a total of ten turns and bends. More than enough for you to get your adrenaline up and going.

Oh, did I mention that it’s indoor and air-conditioned; and that it’s electric go-karts so you don’t have to deal with the smell of fumes?

Nice.

Location:

  • Terminal 4, Departure Hall, Row 4

Opening Hours:

  • Mon – Wed: 2.00pm – 10.00pm
  • Thurs – Sun: 2.00pm – 11.00pm

You can find more details about the pricing here.

Dino Bounce; How can you call it a festive village if there’s no bouncy castle for kids?

Back by popular demand, both kids and adults can have fun in this gigantic bouncy castle, including sliding down a dinosaur’s neck.

There’s even a bounce and surf segment where you have to hold on to the horns of Dino hoppers and hop your way through the course.

Location:

  • T4 Departure Hall, Row 5

Opening Hours:

  • Mon – Wed:  2.00pm – 10.00pm
  • Thurs – Sun: 1.00pm – 10.00pm

Dino Carnival, where all the games, food and fun are at.

Fish on ice, dig for treasures and consuming delicious food and drinks after a hard day of play; that’s what life is all about, isn’t it?

And Changi Festive Village’s Dino Carnival is prepared to give you all of that and more.

Location:

  • Terminal 4 Departure Hall

Opening Hours:

  • From Nov. 26 to Jan. 2, 2022, every Thursday to Sunday, 1pm to 9pm

Do note that you have to make bookings to enter, which can be done here.

Glamping By The Runway

This would probably be the thing that’ll sell out the fastest; after all, when else can you tell people that you’ve camped (or glamped, in this case) by the airport runway?

Don’t worry, we don’t mean out in the hot weather; instead, you’ll be situated inside the Departure transit area, with tall windows overlooking the runway while in the comfort of an air-conditioned area.

Image: Changi Airport

The best part? Because the airport’s in the east, you’re guaranteed an awe-inspiring sunrise view right out the window.

The package comes with the following:

  • queen-sized air bed, complete with pillows and blanket
  • low height table with cushions
  • bedside table
  • charging points
  • bottled water
  • shared shower facility
  • breakfast platter

Depending on the number of glampers, they might add one more single bed.

You won’t be stuck within the tent all-day long too.

Perks of the glamping package includes all-day access to the entertainment zone, movie credits and an entry to Dino Bounce for one.

Each tent can hold a maximum of three adults, or two adults and two children.

Details:

Here’s how much you have to fork out for a night’s stay:

  • $360 (Mon – Wed)
  • $390 (Thu – Sun)
  • And for special days: $420 (24, 25, 31 December 2021 & 1 January 2022)

Location:

  • T4 Departure Transit

Operating Period:

  • 3 December 2021 – 2 January 2022 (3pm to 11am the next day)

You can make your booking here.

Other Fun Places Within The Village

These are, but, the tip of the iceberg.

There are many other exciting activities available as well, from the destination-themed installations at Jewel Changi Airport where you can feel like you’re overseas:

To having a sleepover in a tent at the Changi Experience Studio.

Even the Changi Airport Park Connector (free admission, guys!) is a sight not to be missed:

The 3.5km track will be lit up with more than 10,000 blooms of flowers and more!
