There are some things we can’t live without in the 21st century.
Food….water….air….WiFi….phones…..
I’m sure y’all would agree with me on the last one.
We bring them to work, eat, sleep…even the toilet.
I once tried to live 3 days without my phone. I would say I succeeded, but in fact, I just used more of my laptop.
Here’s something that happened recently because a guy can’t live without his phone:
According to Oriental Daily, a fight broke out because he thought that it was ridiculous that he should live without his phone while it was sent for repair.
The customer went to a well-known electronics store and told the staff that he couldn’t switch on his phone.
He had bought the RM4,000 (SGD 1,320) phone from the same shop 2 months ago but it has now failed him.
According to World of Buzz, the employee suggested that he bring the phone to their service centre because it could be a software problem.
There and then, the customer got very angry and shouted, “You ask me to send my phone to the service centre, which means I won’t have a phone to use during this time?”
Erm….yea?
The angsty customer then demanded that they perform a 1-1 warranty for his phone. The staff involved in the fight, Jacky, approached him and tried to explain to him that the company does not endorse such a policy.
And just like any other ‘big shots’, he demanded to meet their manager. Jacky kindly took the pain to explain to him the company’s warranty policy.
But those words fell on deaf ears.
The raging customer then said, “I bought this phone which costs around RM4,000 but yet, all of you can’t change a new one for me? What is this? Are you all trying to cheat customers?”
So basically in this guy’s world, phone can’t turn on=free phone.
Right after that, he started shoving Jacky and a fight occurred.
World of Buzz reported that they even grappled around on the floor and the staff were taken aback. They tried to stop them but couldn’t.
And here comes the hero of the day:
A man in green was passing by and witnessed the fight. He ran to them and managed to break up the fight.
Who knows what might’ve happened if not for the man…
Just when it seems like the problematic customer was gonna walk away, he lifted a chair and tried to start another fight.
The heroic ‘Man In Green’ was fast enough to stop him (once again).
The whole incident was recorded down by those at the scene and it went viral. Jacky then took the opportunity to explain and share the CCTV footage of the fight.
So…what do you think?
Was the customer too demanding or were the staff not doing their job?
One thing’s for sure: I’ve validated my opening statement.
