Wah, boss. Thanks for this piece of news at 3.34pm when it’s almost 3 hours since I finish lunch and my stomach is starting to procrastinate.
I could indulge in a huge bag of Haribo gummy bears right now. No, not kidding at all. Really. I can.
Gummy bears are the first thing I was introduced to, what I call The Gummy Family.

It brings back childhood memories, particular one where I’ll wail as loud as I can in the local supermarket so my parents would be paiseh and quickly buy me one so I stop crying.
Heh, spoilt like that and #SorryNotSorry.
If you’re a 90s kid, you probably would have remembered the series of gummies right? The brand is YUPI! Come, come, let me bring you back to the land of memories.
Errr, those who are too much younger to know this… now you know how your gorgor and jiejie survive stress last time.
No pizza never mind, got gummy pizza!
And worms too! Omg, so nostalgic.
I remember we always have these during birthday party packs in primary school! And we can’t do without the fast food series.
And then YUPI decided to give us the whole package – Lunch.

Which includes gummy hot dog bun and fries. What’s there not to love?
The list is never ending and there’s even the fruit series.
Adorable isn’t it? And guess what! YUPI is coming back with its all new product.
It’s a gummy caterpillar! See for yourselves:
But why is the picture taken this way? Haha! Looking too much like a caterpillar?

Oh wait. Is it real?
It is NOT a gummy. It’s a gummy-looking caterpillar?
Woo. The image of the gummy caterpillar—I mean—the gummy-looking caterpillar, is actually a screenshot taken from this video by a lady named Janice Ang and posted on a public Facebook group (Mothing and Moth-watching) on 26 October.
This will break the fragile hearts of gummy lovers:

Olona sp, Limacodidae found on Macarthur Palm.Singapore. July 2017
Posted by Janice Ang on Wednesday, 25 October 2017
This creature is a caterpillar from the Limacodidae moth family and it was found on a Macarthur Palm in Singapore.
Hmm. It doesn’t help that they are also known as “gelatin” caterpillars.
Just so you know, even its eggs are transparent. Very Instagram-worthy creature, no?
Still can’t get over the fact that I thought YUPI was making a comeback with a seemingly promising product – gummy caterpillars.
Can someone bring me some gummy bacon to soothe my broken heart?

On a side note before I go and mend my shattered heart, don’t accidentally eat the gummy-looking caterpillar hor.
The world is indeed an interesting place, isn’t it?
