Don’t Say Bojio: 8 Kiasu-est Deals Happening in Singapore This Week (12 to 18 March)

Lest you’re one who’s always going for every IT Fair because you’re a technology guru, heads up, because this week would be a great week for you.

Well, even if you’re not and just want some new glasses because they make you look like Clark Kent (or they cover your eyebags ‘coz of all the cool Korean dramas you just can’t stop binge-watching), read on too, because there’s something for you as well.

Here are the 8 best-est deals this week (12 to 18 March) curated just for you.

IT Show in Suntec City

This needs no introduction, does it? If so, just take a look at their trailer:

Known to be the largest tech show in Singapore, this year’s IT Show occupied three levels in Sunec Convention Hall, from Level 3 to Level 5. You can expect to find popular vendors like Samsung, Challenger and others, though we’ve got to admit that the draw is perhaps the freebies instead of any massive discounts.

More information about the floorplan and vendors can be found here.

In addition to that, there’s even a sure-win lucky spin – you won’t even need to spend a single cent to join. Just follow the instructions here and be there during the event.

Period: 15 March 2018 to 18 March 2018 (11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.)

Location: Suntec City Convention Hall

City Chain & Optical 88 Warehouse Sale

(Article continues below) Most Touching Singapore Video: Jenny is brought up by a single parent, and when she steps into adulthood, she starts to forget that her mother used to be her everything. Watch it here:

Do you know that City Chain and Optical 88 have the same parent company, and they’re founded in Hong Kong? Well, now that you know, here’s something even more charming: they’re having a warehouse sale. NOW.

Located at 138 #06-01 Joo Seng Road (which, for your info, is near Tai Seng), the sale offers up to 80% discount. Lest you can’t read the Facebook post, here’s what they’ve written:

City Chain and Optical 88 Warehouse Sale officially begins! Come with the family and visit us at 138 Joo Seng Road #06-01 S(368361) to get up to 80% off your purchases on eyewear and watch brands like Solvil et Titus, Seiko, Cyma, Alba and many more! #CityChainSG #WarehouseSale

Though, to be honest, if I were getting a Seiko, I’ll head down to Mustafa instead #shoppinghackslevel99

But what you’ll be getting in this warehouse sale is cheap branded watches and glasses, so if you’re looking for a gift, this is for you. In case you really can’t see the image, there’s a free gift (a watch) for the first 50 customers.

The warehouse sale starts now (15 March), and is from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday to Saturday, and 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Interestingly, when someone asked if the promotion would end this week or next week, City Chain did not publicly answered.

So we’ll just play safe and say this: head down this week instead if you’re in for a new watch or a new pair of glasses.

Period: 15 March 2018 to 18 March 2018 (10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. except 18 March, which closes at 6:00 p.m.)

Location: 138 Joo Seng Road #06-01 Singapore 368361

Kids eat for FREE in Ikea

I just did a survey in Goody Feed, and here’s a not-so-shocking results:

Why do you go to Ikea?

  • For the furniture (0%)
  • For the free air-con (0%)
  • For the food (100%)

So it’s safe to say that Ikea isn’t a furniture store, but a restaurant. And this restaurant has a slick promotion this week: kids eat for free.

The accompanying description of their video says:

“Nothing in life is free – except our children’s meals at the IKEA Restaurants. Choose from meatballs, pasta or chicken nuggets.

Promotion only valid for children below 12 years old.”

Now, Ikea (I know you’re reading this), just a minor correction: there are actually free meatballs, pasta or chicken nuggets. In fact, I’m going to have them for two weeks soon – it’s called ICT #justsaying

Granted that this isn’t the first time they’re doing this, and we’re pretty sure it’s to encourage us to buy a chair or so, it’s still pretty darn good.

Period: 12 March 2018 to 16 March 2018

Location: The two Ikea outlets lah. You don’t know where they are meh?

Sweet Monster 1 for 1 in Two Outlets

There’s just something about Sweet Monster that turns it from a hipster brand to a mainstream brand.

Maybe it’s the sweetness of the popcorn. Or the soft-serve ice-cream.

If you’ve no idea what I’m talking about and live in the west, then now would be the best time to try them, coz…

Can’t read? Here’s what they have written:

[1 for 1 Promotion]. Buy any Regular Monster Ice-cream, get an equivalent Regular Monster Ice-cream for Free. *Like us at Facebook, or follow us at Instagram to be entitled for the promotion *

One of the key elements to good ice cream is the quality of the ice cream mixture. Sweet Monster’s premium soft serve is made fresh daily in-house from a mix of HACCP certified milk and arguably the best Korean formula ice cream powder.
While the average soft serve ice cream consist of 10-20% of milk, Sweet Monster signature soft serve ice cream contain more than 75% milk. This results in Sweet Monster ice cream having a rich flavoured and a savoury creamy texture.
Available at Hillion and JCube outlet.
#hillionmall ,#jcubesg , #jcube_mall,#sweetmonster_kr

Well, it pretty much sums up the promotion and hit my word limit for this article as well.

Period: 10 March 2018 to 17 March 2018

Location: Hillion Mall & JCube

My only musical journey is with the recorder I learnt in secondary school, so I can’t say much about the products, but I can say that 90% is one heck of a promotion.

I mean, if only my pay raises by 90% too, I would be a very happy man.

Yeah, it’s Starbucks again but it’s not a 1-for-1, but yet another Instagram-worthy drink from the King of Instagram.

Comprising a balanced mixture of honey-flavoured whipped cream on the top of the drink with – AH, f*** this. Who cares about the taste, because 99.9% of us would buy it for Instagram?

Oh yeah, the 0.01% is that fellow who bought the wrong drink #truestory

Remember the IT Show you’ve read?

Now, imagine a marriage between that offline event with Qoo10, the online giant. You’ll get this:

The Coca-Cola Plus Coffee has arrived in Singapore, and let’s just say that the taste is very subjective: one of us thinks it’s like coffee candy, one of us thinks it’s like carbonated dark chocolate milk and one of us think it’s like Vanilla Coke. However, none of us thinks that it’s worth a second try, simply because we’ll all rather have Coke and coffee separately.
