I’m not sure if it’s just me or what, but I think it was in recent years that I started noticing more and more people around me eating Mala hotpots. They would take videos of their food and put them on their Instagram stories, and that’s when I noticed more places offering Mala hotpots.
Of course, I can understand why so many eat it because it’s so good. Plus, you can always choose what you want to add in so you can vary the amount especially if you’re sharing with more people. You can also vary the spiciness level so that you won’t be crying after the meal.
With this came the craze of Mala-flavoured chips!
If you’re someone who loves Mala but hasn’t already tried the above snacks, are you really a Mala fan?
I’m kidding.
But for real though. Those snacks are pretty good if you’re craving that spiciness and numbness when you’re on the go.
With all these Mala-flavoured snacks, what else have they not made?
Nuts? Check.
Chips? Check.
Cassava chips? Check.
Potato wedges? Check.
So what else is there?
Seaweed.
But fret not, because Tao Kae Noi is here to the rescue.
Tao Kae Noi Releasing New Mala Seaweed
You probably already know the Thai brand that specialises in seaweed snacks, Tao Kae Noi. They’re known to offer flavourful seaweed that makes you jump for joy every time you eat them, and they definitely leave you wanting more after each bite.
This time, they’ve released a flavour that everyone has been waiting for.
Mala-flavoured seaweed.
And this flavour has been released in three different snacks!
- Mala-flavoured Big Roll Grilled Seaweed
- Mala Big Bang
- Mala Crispy Seaweed
I’m super excited to try it! If you’re looking to buy it, you can get it for $2.70 each at Fairprice or on Redmart.
There’s an ongoing promotion where there’s a $0.85 discount if you purchase two from Fairprice. This promotion will last until 1 January 2020.
There’s also an ongoing promotion where if you buy seven packets of Tao Kae Noi seaweed, you will get a free Tao Kae Noi x Hello Kitty tote bag! This promotion will last until 30 November 2019.
But wait, are they releasing any other flavours?
Yes.
Tao Kae Noi Also Releasing New Bubble Tea Seaweed
Okay, so we previously talked about how the bubble tea craze has gone too far, with companies putting boba on french fries and whatnot.
But what if it was a seasoning on seaweed?
How would that work?
I’m not too sure but we can find out because Tao Kae Noi is releasing bubble tea seaweed!
That’s a tad odd considering that their seaweed flavours are usually savoury, but bubble tea is going to give this snack a slight sweetness.
But hey, what do I know? Maybe it would be a unique twist.
Would you try it? Let us know what you think about the two new flavours!
