Many of us probably really like the various Sanrio characters because of how cute each of them are, and this was evident from the crazy long queues when Mcdonald’s released Hello Kitty and My Melody merchandise, when the first few Sanrio character cafes opened in Singapore, as well as when there was a huge Gudetama inflatables event at Sentosa.
But today, I bring to you some sad news.
The Gudetama Cafe located at Suntec City will be closing on 17 November 2019 after three years of operations because their license agreement with Sanrio Co., Ltd. has come to an end.
But fans, don’t be too disheartened!
Probably done as a means to thank their fans for the support they received in Singapore, the cafe will be running promotions on its food and merchandise from 10 October to 17 November.
All diners will get 33% off three food items with a minimum order of either:
- Three mains; or
- Two mains and one dessert.
Most main courses are priced around $26 to $28 while desserts are priced slightly under $20.
Do take note, however, that this promotion does not apply to beverages.
Here are some photos for your eyes to feast on.
Look at all that cuteness. They look way too aesthetic to be eaten.
The store’s merchandise will also have a 33% discount during this period, while stocks last.
So whether you’re a big fan or not, you definitely wouldn’t want to miss this. If you’re in the area, do head on down to the cafe and try out all these cute dishes! You can even bring home a souvenir.
Besides, when else would you be able to eat Gudetama if not during this period?
