It can be real frustrating to run into errant drivers on the roads sometimes.
You just can’t comprehend how some people ever got their driver’s license in the first place to be out causing inconvenience and trouble for everyone else.
However, just because you’re mad at another driver doesn’t mean that it’s acceptable for you to exercise violence during the dispute, as this man will have to learn.
Driver Cuts Into Motorcyclists’ Lane
A video shared by Facebook page ROADS.sg yesterday on 3 August has been making rounds with over 2,000 shares currently, and netizens are condemning a certain violent driver.
In the video, it captured the dispute between a 39-year-old man and some motorcyclists following the man’s car encroaching into their lane.
The incident took place on 2 Aug, Tuesday, near Blk 185 of Bedok North Road, according to the police.
What went down was that the man’s red car could be seen making a wide turn into the entrance of the estate, where he cut into the lane beside the one he was supposed to keep to.
Maybe he thinks he’s driving a racing car.
Three motorcyclists happened to be waiting on the other lane to make a left turn out of the estate when the car approached them, getting dangerously close to them.
When the driver stopped his car, the motorcyclists turned around to inform him that he drove into their lane.
This caused the driver to walk out of his car to where the motorcyclists were to confront them, but all without a mask on his face.
Although the conversation couldn’t be heard over the humming of engines, the man could be heard asking one of the motorcyclists whether he lived in the estate rather aggressively, getting all up in his face.
So another motorcyclist stepped down from his bike to intervene between the two, seemingly gesturing to calm the driver down.
Attempted To Hit Them With “Weapon”
Well, that seemed to have worked when the driver walked back to his car afterwards.
But oh, no no no, it was far from over.
The driver proceeded to open the trunk of his car where he pulled out two long items that were later suspected to be fishing rods, holding it up threateningly to one of the motorcyclists who stood nearby.
A woman could be seen holding the driver back with force, trying to get him to stop while he continued shouting.
Thankfully, the driver didn’t end up hitting any of them with the rods, as the motorcyclist just walked away calmly.
Police Arrested Him
Of course, he didn’t manage to get away scot free with it.
According to Mothership, The Singapore Police Force (SPF) confirmed that they had received reports of the incident.
As he had committed a rash act and criminal intimidation, the driver was arrested.
Under the Regulation 3A(1) of the Covid-19 (Temporary Measures) (Control Order) Regulations 2020, he would also be investigated as he failed to put on his mask outside his residence.
Other investigations are currently ongoing.
