47YO Man Drowned at East Coast Park After Waves Swept Him into the Sea
Lianhe Wanbao reported that on that fateful day, the man was fishing with his wife, and they were allegedly drinking wine, too.
After they were done, the man had walked along various parts of the beach as some of their gear was placed in a different location.
It’s unknown where or when he was swept away by the wave, but at around 11pm, people were seen trying to resuscitate him at an area near Enak Enak HongKong Tea House, which is relatively near to Carpark E1, but to no avail.
Apparently, three people fishing at the beach had seen his body floating on the sea, and they jumped in to bring him ashore.
The man was sent to the hospital unconscious, and he passed away after being sent to the hospital.
The police are investigating the incident, and preliminary investigations do not suspect foul play.

This isn’t the first drowning incident in East Coast Park this year.
Back in March, the body of a 62-year-old man was found at East Coast Park in a suspected drowning case, and the police had retrieved the body from the waters near car park F3.

An SCDF paramedic had later pronounced the man dead at the scene.
It was reported that the man had frequented East Coast Park to fish there.
